On This side this is Saint Christopher. When we are going on a journey to a country, then we can pray to him and he will keep us safe on our journey.

My testing week :)

For the last 5 days I have been doing lots of testing. At first it all felt hard practising, but it was all worth it. I was happy with my gloss test because I came out in Stage 6 to 7. I was so happy with my spelling because I have done more than last year. 

I think I have been doing very well in my testing's.

This book was really Mysterious !

What was the book about?

This Book was about a young boy named theodore , He had a secret admirer. Theodore likes to be called Jigsaw , because Mila his best friend and himself are Detectives, Their the best Detectives, well only in their grade. He looks and looks for clues. He keeps receiving love letters. Then finally someone calls Jigsaw, it was his friend.  Jigsaws friend was called Wingnut. Wingnut told him that , the person he was sending him love letters was, Denika. At first Jigsaw believed him but now he thinks he is lying because , Danika said she was at Skateland with her friends Lucy and Kim. Jigsaw and Mila went back to Wingnut and asked for the actual story. Wingnut finally confessed and said he was sorry. He said that he only did that because Bobby blackmailed him to not tell. Jigsaw finally knew it. It was Bobby all along. Bobby had Wingnuts batman toy. So the next day they tricked Bobby. They went away and hid his valentine cards. Then they gave it back saying gotcha. They told him that he should have ever of said that. In the end everybody laughed and forgave each other.

What did you like about the book?

I liked the book because it was cool and mysterious

I liked the part when Bobby got tricked

I Am David

This When David Escaped out of prison. He got a little bit of help from the prison guard. He told him that he only has about " 30 seconds ". David made it to the other side just in time. David got over the other side without even getting caught.

This book was really Entertaining

Title: Pumpkins Downfall Author: Leon Rosselson

Date started:Monday 12th August 2013 Date finished: Friday 16th August 2013

What was the book about?

This Book was about a Young boy named Pumpkin who bullies a young girl named Sara. He bullied her all the time. Pumpkin and his friend loved to bully her, they called her fuzz brain and the day dreamer. Sara loved animals even if they did not look so good. Pumpkin then finds out that she loves animals. Pumpkin then went and killed a spider and also killed a bird, he wrapped it round with a tablecloth and then but it in a box. Sara opened the Box and started crying. One day her cat went missing. The Children said it was pumpkin, so she went to look for Pumpkin. She finally found him with her cat hanging on the tree upside down. Everything went dark and the lighting was getting rough. Pumpkin was just about to throw a rock on her cats head when she Shouted “ YOU .... BE .... GONE “ ! Then Pumpkin disappeared and was not seen for about 1 whole week. He came back to school the 2 week, Pumpkin then promised everyone that he will never ever bully anyone again.  

What did you like about the book?

I liked this book because it looked interesting.

The part I liked the most was how Pumpkin promised everyone that he will never ever bully them again.

This Book was really Adventurous and was really Amazing !

Title: The Garden Of Empress Cassia Author:Gabrielle Wang Date started: Monday 5th August 2013 Date finished: Friday 9th August 2013

What was the book about?

This Book is about a young girl named Mimi. She loves to paint and draw. She gets bullied at school all the time they call her names like Ew ! Go away Smelly Poo ! She would go home at get angry. One Day her teacher gave her a present. Her Teacher Mrs O’dell gave her a box of Magical Pastels. Mrs O’dell said that no one is to use them , she said that if someone else uses it then they will be scared to death. Mimi Draws and draws with her Magical Pastels. She even drew The Garden Of Empress Cassia. People from her area would read out a short quote she wrote and would just enter the Drawing. Then a sad day came Mimi’s Magical Pastels went missing. Gemma on the other hand was jealous, she took the magical Pastels. Mimi was sad. Then one day Gemma drew a dark Garden and also wrote a dark Quote. Gemma read  the quote out and got sucked into the Drawing. They tried to pull her out but it wasn't enough strength. Josh came and helped Mimi and her friend pull Gemma out. Mimi , Josh and Gemma’s friend got Gemma out. Gemma then took the Pastels and threw them into the river. Mimi went home and dreamt about Empress Cassia. She could still bring The Garden Of Empress Cassia back to life with her old Pastels

What did you like about the book?

The thing I liked about this Book was how She drew The Garden Of Empress Cassia.

My Report Writing

Checklist for Report Writing :

Structure The opening statement classifies the subject of the report. The opening statement is followed by sentences (usually factual) that describe such things as appearance, behavior and other aspects of the phenomenon being described. The writing has paragraphs, each one focusing on a different aspect of the phenomenon. Topic sentences are used. A general statement about the topic usually rounds off the report. Diagrams, illustrations or photographs are often used.

Language Present tense verbs are used. Verbs for describing and classifying (is, are, has, have, belongs to) are used. Action verbs are used to describe behaviors (climb, eat) Action verbs are used to describe behaviors (climb, eat). Personal reports focus on the individual (my dog). Scientific or technical reports focus on classes of things (dogs). Nouns and noun phrases are used rather than personal pronouns.

Cross Country Report

Opening Statement :

Cross Country at St Pius X is a day of running.  Cross country started at 1.30 in the afternoon, the whole school gathered in the school tennis courts.  The races were just about to begin.  The first load of runners were getting ready.  

Paragraph one / first aspect of the Event - Cross Country :

The 12 and 13 year olds started first with their run,  then it went on from the 11 years olds down to the 5 year olds. But of course the senior and junior syndicate had totally different courses.  `Each age group from the senior syndicate went straight after each other.

Paragraph two - Second aspect of the Event

The starting point was at the back of the church in front of the school office.  

Each student of each age group stood at the starting line waiting for the big BANG for them to all start running. Most of them jogged down the hill and carried on until they reached the hill and started walking.

Final Paragraph - Last aspect

The senior syndicate had finally finished all their laps and it was up to the junior syndicate to start with their races.  The junior age groups went from 8 to 5 year olds. It went 8 year old boys then 8 year old girls, it was the same for all the junior age groups. Cross country was almost finished it was just up to the 5 year old boys and girls. The last race was very fierce for the 5 year olds, everyone of them were catching up with each other and there was a lot of speed in them. Although the course was really small, the course for the juniors was just around the school field but the senior course was 2 rounds around the block.

This Book is so strange but so thrilling !

What was the book about?

This Book is about Creepella Von Cacklefur writing her New spooky silly Book. Creepella, and her niece Shivereen and also her pet bat Bitewing decided its time to go on an adventure and visit scary Squeakspeare Mansion. There they meet Billy a famous writer in Mouse Island. Billy is such a fraidy mouse. As they step into the house they see mysterious things in the house. As they go forward they see things that are things that happen during the time they walk around. They walk into rooms and find scary things in them. Then finally they find out that this is a house of Bobby’s family. Bobby soon finds out that the Thirteen ghost like to clean at midnight.

What did you like about the book?

I like this book because it was so mysterious and very mischievous .

What was your favorite part of the book?

My favorite part of the book was when Bobby found out that the haunted house really belonged to his family.

Description about my Father

My father means the world to me.   He has white and black hair.   He is kind of roundish, He is short ,strong and handsome.   My Father has curly straight hair and is really holy.   My Father has brown outlines on his eyes and has beautiful dark brown eyes.   My Father is brownish .

                                                                     

I love my Father because he is very humble and a very wise man.   My Father really loves reading , he says that if we keep reading alot then we will understand our Maths , Religious Education , Spelling, Writing and lastly Reading.   He is very good at singing and playing guitar.   My Father really likes Maths but most of all he likes Music.

When the house is messy My father would get really really angry.   He is a really tidy man.   When My Father smiles and laughs that means its a sign of happiness, But when he is telling me a really sad story of when his Grandmother died I can tell that he is sad because his dark brown eyes start to get watery.

My Father can be a angry, happy and sad but no one in this world can ever replace my Father.   That is why my Father is really awesome

They have 35 altogether I know because 5x7 equals 35

2.  I have 5 bags of lollies.  Each bag has 10 lollies.  How many lollies do I have altogether?

I have 50 altogether I know because 10x5=50

3.   I have 24 pencils to put into 4 pencil cases.  How many pencils in each case?

There are 6 pencils in each pencil case I know because 4x6=24

4.  There are 30 apples to put into 3 boxes.  How many apples will be in each box?

There are 10 in each box I know because 30 divided by 3=10

1. There are 21 people at a beach, and 13 more people arrive.Show how to work out how many people are at the beach altogether? 20+10=30 ,1+3=4 so 30+4=34

2	Two classes go on camp together. One class has 47 students and the other has 38.Show how to work out how many students go on camp? 40+30=70, take 2 away from the 7 and add it to the 8 which makes another 10 so 10+5=15 so 70+10+5=85

3.  A farmer has 63 cows.  He buys 39 more cows. Show how to work out how many cows he has altogether. 60+30=90, 9+3=12 so 90+10+2=102

It's early morning on frog pond. As the sun rises, light sparkles on the water (1).    All sorts of  pond animals are waking up. A (2) busy day is beginning. At the edge of The (3) pond, a little green frog sits on a lilypad (4) in the water. He is hidden here among the(5) floating plants. He keeps very still and very quiet(6). Swimming Experience

Splish! Splash! This was My first swimming experience at Saint Pius X this term. When I walked inside the pool I could feel the water climbing up my body. It felt so cold, but I survived. Mrs Tui game everybody a number. I was the number 5. Mrs Tui called our number one by one, When it got to my turn I had to do a streamline. I had a really fun time. Especially when I had free time for only two minutes. My hardest lesson was when I had to do freestyle, But one day I will know how to freestyle. This Experience was really fun.
